The University of Oregon continues to prioritize addressing students’ mental health concerns. Students have options for in-person drop-in and other in-person counseling services, telemental health services (e.g. videoconference sessions), consultation with case managers to help you figure out how to find mental health support in your home community, and a support/crisis line when the Counseling Center is closed, and other online resources. We will update this page regularly with information about services, resources, and programs as it becomes available.

Anytime the Counseling Center is closed, a mental health professional is available to provide support and connect you with resources. This line is available to all UO students, regardless of where they are located. When the Counseling Center is open, this number directs to the front desk.

Mental Health Services

Teletherapy Services (Videoconferencing)

The University Counseling Center is providing teletherapy services (i.e., videoconference sessions) for students physically located in Oregon, Arizona, California, Colorado, Minnesota, Nevada, and Texas. Call the Counseling Center at 541-346-3227 during our hours of operation to schedule a telemental health intake. After your intake is scheduled, you will be sent a link to the forms you need to complete before your intake appointment. You will also be sent a link to connect with your intake therapist via Zoom.

In-Person Drop-In Services

If you would like to drop in for in-person services, come to the Counseling Center during drop-in hours or call us at 541-346-3227 and our front desk staff will assist you with meeting with a mental health professional.

University Health Center medical staff will screen building visitors for respiratory symptoms or fever. If you are screened positive for respiratory symptoms or fever, you will be given instructions by the medical staff about next steps for addressing these symptoms.

When you come to the Counseling Center for in-person drop-in, we will adhere to CDC guidelines for reducing the risk of spreading COVID-19. All surfaces in our lobby, iPads, and our front desk area are wiped down with sanitizing wipes multiple times daily. iPads and similar items are wiped down after each use. Also, consistent with CDC social distancing guidelines, staff will ask you to (and will) also maintain a six-foot distance between you and other individuals. If staff are escorting you from our lobby to other parts of the building, they will walk six feet ahead of you.

This process will be slightly different from our normal drop-in services, as providers from the University Health Center behavioral health team will be meeting with students for in-person services during this time.


Consultation with a Counseling Center Case Manager

Even though students located in certain states can participate in telemental health services with the Counseling Center, some of you may prefer to find mental health resources in your home communities. Because we are not licensed to provide telemental health services in all states, students may need to find mental health support where you currently reside. Our case managers can talk with you about how to find that support. Call the Counseling Center at 541-346-3227 and ask to schedule a phone consultation with one of our case managers.


After-Hours Support and Crisis Line

Our support and crisis line is open to all students regardless of location. Call 541-346-3227 to talk to a mental health professional when the Counseling Center is closed.
