SUBSTANCE ABUSE PSYCHOLOGIST
The University of Oregon Counseling and Testing Center invites applications for a Senior Staff Substance Abuse Intervention Counselor/Psychologist. This position is a twelve month, fixed term, renewable appointment as an Officer of Administration.
Primary responsibilities include providing evidence-based substance abuse interventions and programming; conducting clinical substance abuse assessments; facilitating substance abuse groups and workshops utilizing a harm reduction approach; facilitating referrals to substance abuse treatment resources in the community; providing substance abuse outreach and education to the campus community; participating on multidisciplinary substance abuse prevention and interventions teams; and working collaboratively with Student Affairs conduct officers. Additional responsibilities include providing general intake assessment and individual therapy within a brief therapy framework, developing and implementing workshops and outreach presentations to a wide variety of student groups and university departments, and providing supervision and training experiences to graduate level employees and trainees.
The Counseling and Testing Center is a unit within the Division of Student Affairs. The Counseling and Testing Center provides services and programs to a diverse student population and is committed to its growth as a multicultural organization. Successful applicants will demonstrate an understanding of the role of substance abuse intervention and prevention on a university campus, have previous experience collaborating within multidisciplinary teams, and have demonstrable experience working with diverse populations.
Doctorate in counseling or clinical psychology, APA accredited internship, and eligible for licensure in Oregon is preferred. M.A. in counseling or related field, MSW, or LCSW with CDAC certification is also acceptable. Successful candidates must have previous experience providing substance abuse assessments and interventions and have familiarity with harm reduction model. Qualified candidates should have demonstrable multicultural competence and a commitment to multicultural organizational development.
Salary range is $40,000-$55,000, is negotiable commensurate with qualifications and experience, and includes full benefits.
