Coping with Loss

What is it?

Loss can come in many different forms. It is not uncommon to have difficulties coping with loss after the passing of a loved one. These can be very difficult times as we deal with our own emotions and consider our lives moving forward without that relationship.

What can help?

Loss affects us all differently and there is no one way to cope with the loss of a loved one. To cope with a loss, you might consider carrying a keepsake or something that reminds you of the person, creating a memory book, or talking with a friend regularly. Allow yourself to feel your feelings and take care of yourself. A large part of the grieving process involves what goes on inside of you and paying close attention to your thoughts, feelings, memories, hopes, and dreams.
