The Counseling Center at the UCTC is honored to work with native american, inuit, aboriginal, and all indigenous students at the UO. We recognize there are many challenges to face in the process of obtaining an education. For some indigenous students, the task of getting into college involved overcoming considerable odds. You might have encountered messages that a college education was beyond your abilities or not worth pursuing. Family may have mixed feelings about your being away at college or have difficulty knowing how to help you while you are away. For many it can be hard to find community and places where you can connect and feel supported.
We at the Counseling Center believe you have made an important investment in coming to UO and we want to help you succeed! We will be curating online resources below that may be useful to you. We are also available for personal support. Please call (541) 346-3227 to speak with a therapist about getting started at the Counseling Center.
UO OrgSync: this is a great resource for finding opportunities to connect with others. It contains a searchable database containing most the different student organizations offered at UO currently. It's also organized alphabetically or by subject.
