Faculty and Staff Resources
If you ever need assistance in helping a student, please call us for a consultation. A consultation with a therapist can help you identify the next steps, appropriate resources, and services for your student. Additionally, you can always refer students to us if you feel they are facing mental health related barriers to academic success. The Counseling Center also offers workshops and classroom presentations on a variety of topics.
We strongly suggest that all faculty and staff become familiar with Mental Health Issues in the Academic Environment and Recognizing and Responding to Students in Distress.
The Counseling Center does not provide counseling services to faculty and staff; however, you can access counseling services though UO’s Employee Assistance Program.
If you have any other questions, please call. If you and your colleagues would like a presentation on suicide prevention or any other topic that may help you work with students in distress, please see our Outreach and Education section and Request an Outreach.
Please note: the UCTC provides confidential psychological services to students, consistent with the parameters of state and federal laws. While many faculty and staff consultations about students may be kept confidential, there are times when University policy or state/federal statutes require UCTC staff to disclose information to other university officials.
