The University of Oregon is seeking applications for a Crisis Center Director GTF to work .49 FTE for fall, winter, spring and summer 2008-09. Please apply by April 23, 2008
Duties
- Recruit, train, and supervise crisis counselors
- Prepare and maintain budget
- Act as administrative liaison with University and community officials
- Serve as on-call supervisor for staff (hours: 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. weekdays, 24 hours weekends) and facilitate weekly staff meetings
- Teach CPSY 410/510: Crisis Intervention, fall and spring terms
- Provide crisis training for interested student and community groups
- Attend advisory board meetings
- Attend Counseling Center staff meetings, as needed
- Report to Counseling Center Director or assigned supervisor
Eligibility
University of Oregon Graduate students pursuing a master’s or doctoral degree in any discipline are eligible to apply. Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated ability in the areas relevant to the assignment:
- Experience and training in crisis intervention, in-person and by telephone
- Experience in supervision and training of staff
- Experience and training in personal problem counseling
- Experience in teaching
- Prior administrative experience preferred

Duties
This person will work with the Director of the Crisis Center to:
- Recruit, train, and supervise crisis counselors
- Direct the annual crisis prevention conference and supervise a conference coordinator
- Prepare and maintain Crisis Center advertising
- Review daily log sheets and compile statistics
- Serve as on-call back-up supervisor for staff (hours: 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. weekdays, 24 hours weekends) and attend weekly staff meetings
- Assist Crisis Center Director as needed

Eating Disorder Specialist .49 FTE

PERSONS must be enrolled in a University of Oregon Counseling Psychology Graduate Program. This position is budgeted through a strategic alliance with that department.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Eating Disorder Specialist: The Eating Disorders Program at UCTC is based on the bio-psycho-social etiology of eating disorders and utilizes a multidisciplinary team approach to treatment. In addition, this program emphasizes a health approach (non-diet) and is size accepting.
Provide direct service to University students: Provide drop-in services, initial assessments, ongoing brief therapy, case management, and referral. Possess the ability to assess and provide treatment to clients with eating disorders. Become an integral part of the Eating Disorders Team, assist with coordinating case conferences and take a leadership role in running an eating disorder psycho-educational group Fall, Winter, and Spring terms. Perform eating disorder assessments for group participants including administering the Eating Disorder Inventory - III. Provide outreach and consultation services periodically (and as time allows in contract). Participate in weekly GTF meeting and some staff meetings and staff developments.
This position requires applicants to possess the ability to effectively relate to the student population we serve and to comply with agency expectations regarding clinical paperwork. The GTF will be expected to do some reading and participate in training on eating disorders in supervision. Good organizational skills are also needed. Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to multicultural organizational development and multicultural competence. Preference given to candidates with advanced clinical skills and previous work experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Substance Abuse Specialist: Provide direct service to University students: Provide drop-in services, initial assessments, ongoing brief therapy, case management, and referral. Possess the ability to assess and provide treatment to clients with substance abuse. Co-lead groups for substance abuse clients. Provide consultation, referral and outreach programs on substance abuse issues. Use motivational interviewing to help students referred through the conduct process reflect upon the adverse impact of their substance use on their academic/social functioning. Work effectively with Health Center clinicians. Participate in weekly GTF meeting and some staff meetings and staff developments.

PERSONS must be enrolled in a University of Oregon Counseling Psychology or Clinical Psychology Graduate Program. This position is budgeted through a strategic alliance with those departments.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Testing Assessment Specialist: Provides psychological assessments, including assessments for ADHD, learning disabilities, personality and intelligence under the direction of the Assessment Coordinator. Work with Counseling and Testing Center Staff and the Office of Disability Services to assess and provide documentation for students requesting disability accommodations. Participate in weekly GTF meetings and some staff meetings and staff development trainings.
This position requires applicants to possess the ability to effectively relate to the student population and to comply with agency expectations regarding clinical paperwork. Applicants should demonstrate initiative, good organizational skills, strong written and oral communication skills.Applicants should also demonstrate a commitment to multicultural organizational development and multicultural competence.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Outreach Specialist: Ability to assess and help meet needs of underserved populations by designing, enhancing, and implementing developmental intervention programs, including a targeted diversity initiative or project (e.g. advertise, plan and teach a multicultural leadership class in conjunction with UCTC staff.) Demonstrated initiative, communications skills, and leadership qualities are essential. Also provides direct service to University students by participating in drop-in services, conducting initial assessments, providing ongoing brief therapy and making referrals. Attend weekly GTF meetings and some staff meetings and staff development trainings.
This position requires applicants to possess the ability to effectively relate to the student population we serve, to work closely with agency staff in relating to and meeting needs of underserved populations, to potentially collaborate with other Student Affairs agencies or student groups, and to comply with agency expectations regarding clinical paperwork and administrative duties. Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to multicultural organizational development and multicultural competence. Enthusiasm, flexibility, ability to work independently, and creativity are strongly desired.
